The January IxDA Helsinki meetup @ Nolla, thursday 29.1.

The second IxDA Helsinki meetup will be held at the familiar Ravintola Nolla. This time we’ll hook up in the other end of the restaurant for some more space and projection capabilities.

Janne Korhonen from Seos will present a point of view on sustainable design and it’s value. The overall feel of the evening will still be loose, informal & relaxed. Check out the participants at Facebook: http://is.gd/gqQ9

Last time we had more than 35 people stopping by, looking forward to top that this time. Welcome!!

First IxDA Helsinki Meetup – 13.11.2008

IxDA Helsinki, 13.11.2009

The first ever IxDA Helsinki Meeting took place on Thursday 13.11.2008 in Restaurant Nolla.

An impressive number of 35-40 people from 17 companies, into interaction design, showed up to meet and get to know each other.

Among the attendees were Brian Cronin (below, far left) and Rachel Hinman from Adaptive Path, San Francisco, who just happened to be in Helsinki at that time – thx for dropping by!

The first evening was very informal, starting with a short welcome by Sami Niemelä, with a quick glance at the initial plans for IxDA Helsinki activities.

After the brief intro, everybody were given the task to draw and illustrate “Interaction Design” on a single post-it note.

This was partly group warm-up, partly an unethical probe into the collective subconsciousness of the local interaction designer community and partly a chance to get us to get our hands on some sticky notes on the spare time. ;)

Needless to say, the evening turned out better than us organizers ever expected. A big “Thank You!” to everyone who dropped by, it was fun.
